Sometimes a great yarn bargain can be found in a sweater you already own or from the thrift store. Sometimes the yarn in the sweater is worth more than a sale rack sweater. Learn how to unravel a sweater and determine its gauge for future knitting projects. We'll also look at other methods for re-using sweaters like felting.

Michelle Kempner is a knitter, technologist and programmer. When she is not building enterprise-level applications in Java, Michelle collaborates with her husband, James Powderly, creating robotic art as Robot Clothes. Currently, Michelle is dreaming of technologies for the Graffiti Research Lab: craft division.
